I sure hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I spent mine showing some extra Love through visits, texts, social media and phone calls to others to brighten their day. Communication is a powerful tool that we all possess, but sometimes don’t use often enough. Holidays remind us and afford us the opportunity to reach out to others in a positive way. Though the Valentine Holiday has passed, our need to show and feel love is constant and should be nurtured daily. ***Continue to love and care for one another.

*Communion Sunday Worship was held on February 12th @ 11am. Pastor August’s sermon was taken from the book of Jeremiah 8:20-22 and was entitled: “Is There A Cure”? He shared that we are in a diseased state in our society but, there is a remedy. That remedy Pastor August declared is “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus”. We were challenged to remember that “there is a Balm in Gilead” that heals sin and Jesus is that Balm that still heals sin today! Amen.
Mary’s Chapel UMC:
*The monthly Family Day Program will resume on Sunday, February 26th. The families of Sis. Tessie Lewis and Roy/Elezebeth Moses will be in charge of this wonderful event. All are invited and welcomed to attend.

*Senior Night for the Wildcats & Lady Cats Basketball Teams was held on Tuesday, Feb. 7th for the following Class of 2023 players: Kasia McGowan, Eliza Seals, Leterrius Hooks, DeVonte Magee, Quovadis Bickham Jr. and Jamari Lewis. Congratulations Students!
*Congratulations are extended to Tyriah Davis, a VHS 2022 graduate, on being accepted into Alabama State University's Bachelors of Social Work program. Keep up the great work Tyriah! Also, VHS Class of 2021 Honor Grad and current Morehouse College Student, LaDarrick Smith visited New York City as a member of the Morehouse Career Leadership Institute/Talent and Development Academy. Congratulations LaDarrick! In addition, another VHS 2017 Alumni Andre Jones Jr. has been invited to participate in the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. Congratulations Andre!
