This is the last day of May already. It sometimes seems that the older I get, the faster time flies. With that said let’s get ready for the month of June and some safe, summer fun!

Wesley Ray UMC:
*On Sunday, May 28th Pastor August’s sermon was entitled: When Jesus Shows Up (John 20:19). He shared that there are four things that happen when Jesus Shows Up: He gives peace, He gives revelation, He gives a commission and He supplies our needs.
*Also on this day, We are Thankful to God for the Holy Baptisms of Ava and Amya. In addition, the 2023 Graduates were honored with presentations from the Sunday School, Ushers,and others. The Concerned Citizens Of Angie members (VP-Larry Roberts Jr., Ed Chair-La’Darrus Brister & Cor. Sec.-Gwendolyn Pigott) presented their organization’s scholarship to Scholar/Recipient Debriana Harry-Weary. College Graduate, Zariah Donston graduated from Pearl River Community College. Congratulations to All and Much Success in all your future endeavors!
*The United Methodist Men’s Fellowship Breakfast will be held on Saturday, June 3rd.
New Beginning Ministries:
*Bishop A. D. Spikes (New Beginning Ministries) was the guest speaker for the “Impact Revival” held @ Ford’s Chapel on May 28-31, 2023. Pastor Archie McGowan and Lady Clarissa McGowan welcomed all that were in attendance.

*Congratulations to the Class of 2023 graduates - Yasmine Haynes, Eliza Seals, and Debriana Weary on passing their Prometric Exam to become Certified Nursing Assistants. *Keep Striving Young Ladies!

Wesley Ray Elem. (WRE):
*The Summer Feeding Program for children 18yrs. & younger will be held on June 1st-June 29th (Mon.-Thurs.). Breakfast served 7:15-8:00a.m. and Lunch will be served 10:30am-12pm/noon. For additional information contact the school @ (985)986-3131.
Community News:
*The Washington Parish Library was selected to receive a special grant for small and rural communities called “The Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities” grant. The library was 1 of 240 to be selected. This award comes with a $20,000 grant that will help the library install handicap accessible doors at the Franklinton and the Bogalusa Branch and eventually offer Homebound Services to those residents who need it.
