What a week it has been! Going back to work/school the week after the Fair is always busy and draining. Our football game was changed to a Thursday night again, it was the week before Halloween (that speaks volumes in itself), having to retrieve all the Fair items, getting ready for Senior Night, and Gracie interviewed for Franklinton High School Student of the Year. On the go was an understatement to describe this past week.
Gracie received Franklinton High School’s Student of the Year. She interviewed on Thursday with four other amazing students and was honored with this wonderful award. She has worked so hard throughout her entire school life, and I can’t take credit for any of it except for support given to her. She was so nervous about the whole process, and we discussed it at length. She said, “Mom I just have to give it to God, if it happens it is meant to be and if not, it is ok.” When the judging was over, she sent me a message saying she was just praying for each of the contestants and that all of them would have peace about the outcome, whatever it may be. We are so incredibly proud of her accomplishments and those of her fellow contestants, but being kind, helpful, hardworking people is the best we can all ask for. They are all going to be doing big things in the future.
Enon Elementary wrapped up Red Ribbon Week this past week. We had decades day, college/career day, red shirt day, and crazy hair day. I must say the kids really know how to do it up!
The Enon Baptist Church Youth will have Enon Night on the Levee November 5th at 6 pm. The church also had Trunk-R-Treat on October 31st. Happy birthday to Cledy Watson, Connor Comeaux, Paige Liberto, and Owen Daniels. Congratulations to Jason and Heather Knight on the birth of their daughter Gentry.
During the month of October, the Beta and Leadership Clubs of Enon Elementary joined together to gather food and supplies for the Washington Parish Animal Shelter. They donated over 200 pounds of dog food, 40 pounds of cat food, 34 toys, and 24 packs of snacks and treats. We are so proud of our students and their generosity.
The Enon Library had special visitors last week. The Pre-K students came to visit Snowball and Peanut the guinea pigs. They also listened to a story and drew pictures. I hope you all have a wonderful week. If you have any exciting news you would like for me to share, please message me anytime. Until next week…………
