Spring seems to finally be in the air, or at least the pollen is! My poor car looks like it has been seasoned in that yellow dust. Our grass is finally turning green and the weather has been pretty nice, but this is Louisiana, we can have all four seasons in one day.
Last week my niece Angela took my mom to see Mike at the hospital. He has a wonderful team of doctors and nurses, and we are eternally grateful for those who are supporting Mike and Natalie during this time. (Mike Sharp is a longtime volunteer fireman who currently is Chief of District 8 VFD.) There are three different blood drives coming up soon. On March 18th there will be a blood drive at District 7 Fire Department on 17380 Bill Booty Rd. Bogalusa from 9 am to 1 pm, March 25th there will be one at the Franklinton Fire Department in town from 9 am to 4 pm, and on April 1st there will be one at the Meeting Room at WPFD #9 36023 Hwy 1055 Mt. Hermon from 9 am to 2 pm. I have been doing research on giving platelets and apparently it takes about 2-3 hours to do, but isn’t difficult and one article I read said some folks use it as there “alone” time to relax. God Bless the blood, plasma, and platelet donors!
