To the graduating class of 2023, for most of you this is your last week of high school, and you are THRILLED. We get that, but here are some things you should remember:
It is okay if you still do not know where you want to go to school or what you want to become in the future. It is okay if you decide after all this preparation that this or that school is no longer where you want to go. It is okay to just go to work and find yourself to figure out what makes you, you. I knew what I wanted to be when I graduated 30 years ago (how can it be that long?), but guess what? It changed. I was still in Education; however, went from wanting to be a High School English teacher to an Elementary Education teacher. Most people say it takes 4 years to get out of college and for some it does. It took me 5 and a half years and I have NO SHAME in it taking me that long. I worked my way through senior year and all through college in order to pay for it. (also showing livestock and selling my sheep) I learned a lot about myself during that time and tried not to settle for anything. You will find your way, I promise. Just know that all of your parents/grandparents are praying for you and your future, and we love you very much. Best of luck on your future endeavors!
LEAP testing will finish up this week at Enon Elementary School. Testing week is always ten times more exhausting than a regular school week. (If you know, you know) May 3rdwill be the Pre-K Round up at Enon Elementary School from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. If your daughter is interested in trying out for Franklinton Jr. High School girls Basketball team, try outs are May 3rdto 4th from 3 pm to 5 pm. May 3rd through May 5th will be Acadience Testing (Dibels). May 5th will be $1 Jeans for Justice. Students may ONLY wear a BLACK SHIRT with JEANS or their UNIFORM. (Making a stand against Bullying and Violence by wearing black) May 24this the last day for students and it is a half day. This year has FLOWN by for sure. The saying goes don’t blink, and they mean it!
Enon Baptist Church had a huge turn out for the Annual Block Party. There was music, food, preaching, praise, puppets, games, and good fellowship. Thank you to all who supported, donated, and came out. This event seems to get bigger every year and we are so thankful we get to put it on.
Condolences to the families of Nancy Dwire and Charles Leslie Stewart.
Happy birthday to Alyea Serpas, Joyce Barbin, Eric Ginn, Christine Ginn, Logan Thomas, Beau Blackwell, Bob Watson, Rebecca Mizell, Angela Wells, and Denelle Tate.
May 24th will be the End of the Year Party for EBC Youth at Zona from 5 pm to 9 pm. The Youth will begin the Zona Summer kick off that day as well. The May fundraiser for Camp Fuego is a calendar where you donate money for a particular day. (So, if you chose the 10th on the calendar, you donate $10.) We appreciate all of your help and donations.
May 6th will be the Fired Up for Mike Car/Truck/Bike Show for Captain Mike Sharp of District #8 Fire Department, who is battling leukemia. There will be lots of music, food, fun, and bracelets! Cypress Creek, Joel Galloway, and much more! (I hope I don’t leave anyone out!) Come join us for a GRAND time!
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Feel free to message me anything exciting you have going on. I would love to hear from you. Until next time……
