We had a wonderful guest speaker at Enon Baptist Church on Sunday evening. Pastor Isaac and his wife Shupe Makashinyi are from Lusaka, Zambia. They are a precious missionary couple and had met Brother Chris Wheeler several years ago. Pastor Isaac told us that he too was from the deep south…….South Africa. (haha) He brought a wonderful message about God’s love for us and how God numbered each hair on our head and cares about the big things and little things in our lives. After the service we had a wonderful time of fellowshipping and a meal. We hope to see them again in the future.
The Youth of Enon Baptist Church are selling EBC shirts for $25 each as a fundraiser. If you would like a shirt, there are forms at the church. Please fill out one form for each shirt you order. September 3rdthe Youth will have a Scavenger Hunt, the time is to be announced. (I remember how fun those were back in the day.) August 28th will be Children in Action recognition service. Mrs. Alice has been doing an amazing job with all of our kiddos! September 10th will be the Children’s Banana Olympics. September 24th will be our Second Annual Chili Cookoff/Fall Fest and Cake Walk to raise funds for the Children’s Ministry. (Jake Blackwell was the champ last year!) We are taking up items for Operation Christmas Child, the Washington Parish Food Bank, and Box Tops for Education, Community Coffee coupons, and aluminum can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.

The students at Enon Elementary School are doing a fabulous job so far this year! We seem to be getting into the groove and getting used to our routine. Please remember to watch for buses, and students getting on and off the bus. School zones are also cell phone free zones. (no texting and driving anyway)
