I really thought that I would be able to have a relaxing summer, but we have been on the go the entire time so far! I wouldn’t trade it for the world though. Savannah was a great place to visit with a lot of great food, sights, and history for sure! FHS Beta did an outstanding job with group talent, but we did not make Top10. (Just wait until next year!) Bailey Burdette did place 6th at Nationals for On-Site Painting! We were able to see the play Grease at the Savannah Theater and it was phenomenal! The girl who played Sandy was actually from Baton Rouge, so we did get a picture with her. I hope to go back there when it is a bit cooler to take in more sights!
We just dropped Gracie off today at Acadian Baptist Center in Eunice, LA for her week as a camp counselor for Camp Fuego. The Youth of Enon Baptist Church will be leaving tomorrow to spend this week at Camp Fuego. It makes my heart so happy for the kids to be spending time together learning more about the Lord at church camp. Please pray for them not only with the heat, but to be able to grow in their walk with the Lord.
Enon Baptist Church will have their annual 4th of July Celebration on Sunday, July 7th at the Riverbend Campground at 6 pm. Feel free to bring a dessert or finger food and come join us for fun and fellowship. Saturday, June 29th will be our church work day, breakfast will be ready at 7 am. Children in Action will be having their summer party June 26th. Please wear or bring clothes that can get wet or dirty.
Condolences to the families of Vivian Ready, S.J. Barbazon, Tim King, and Colby Perrin.
Happy birthday to Shanna Cutchall Bennett, one of our phenomenal 1st grade teachers Kristal Provost, Todd Knight, Chris Hickman, Jennifer Roberson Ginn, and John Comeaux. Happy Anniversary to those celebrating as well.
Thank you so much to the Custodial Staff of Enon Elementary School and all other schools! We appreciate your hard work and dedication all year long, but especially during those hot summer months!
The Enon Library had impromptu playdough art last week! You never know what will be happening at our amazing library, so stop by and check it out! The Souls Heirs performed for the summer reading program and gave some history of jazz and the second line. Afterwards kids went over to the library to check out books and make mosaic crafts.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. I am in search of a SWEET Washington Parish watermelon this week. I also hope to take my mama to Charlie’s U Pick It (never fear we aren’t going to pick, we are going to shop what has already been picked, haha) and see what kind of veggies we can get! I will be picking up some amazing salsa and jellies from Helton’s Homestead this week as well. I absolutely love supporting small businesses and I am always looking for more! Until next time………
