Welcome back to this week's edition of the Enon News! School Staff and Faculty are getting ready for school to start back this week. It will officially begin on August 6th. I am starting my 22nd year off in a totally different position than I ever dreamed…….Pre-K! I have taught a variety of grades and I believe this year will be the most exciting year yet. I will also have a junior and freshman in high school. When in tarnation did that happen??? They were just little Enon Eagles and now they will both be Franklinton Demons.
If you have any questions about starting school, please feel free to call Enon Elementary School at 985-839-3976 or the Washington Parish School Board at 985-839-3436. Grades 1st-6th will have a Meet your Teacher (Drive Through) on August 5, 2021, from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. 5th and 6th grade will go to the front of the school in the bus area and 1st through 4th graders will use the carline same directional flow as last year. This event is optional, feel free to send supplies on the first day of school, August 6th. Pre-K and Kindergarten parents will be contacted by your child's teacher to schedule a time for testing, drop off supplies, and meet the teacher. August 17th Pre-K and Kindergarten boys attend school for their first day (girls remain home), August 18th Pre-K and Kindergarten girls attend school for their first day (boys remain home), and August 19th Pre-K and Kindergarten boys and girls come to school. We are so happy to welcome you to the Enon Eagle Family. If you get a chance while dropping of supplies stop by the Enon Branch Library and see how awesome the library looks. They have so many new books for young and older alike. I need to get myself over there for a visit as well.
Enon Baptist Church will have our next Ladies Bible Study, Matchless, by Angie Smith, starting August 18th. Please sign up before August 8th, the books are $18. August 15th we will host Pastor Rudy Gonzalez of the SERT (Search, Evangelize, Rescue, Train) Ministries. We would love to have you join us. Children in Action will have a Water Day on August 7th from 10 am to 2 pm. On the evening of August 29th, EBC will be partnering with Talley's Chapel Community Church for a Fifth Sunday Night Sing with a fellowship afterwards. Condolences to the family of Jeannie Carroll. Happy anniversary to Karl and Diana Casanova. Happy Birthday to Cody Comeaux, Cyndy Michel, Noah Burch, Karl Casanova, James Jones, Eliska Magee Lynch, Tony Knight, and Brother Dean Register.
Watching the Olympics has been awesome to see, but I still get confused seeing 2020 instead of 2021. The athletes are so talented at what they do. I only wish I could flip, jump, ride, and swim as well as they do. I know our students will be excited to keep score of the different medals won between each of the countries. I hope you all have a great week with this "cool front" coming. I guess it will be 90 instead of 100. Try to stay out of the heat if possible. Good luck with all your endeavors this week and stay hydrated.
