(Karen is off this week....here is her column from last week.)
Last week was the longest week ever! Franklinton High School Homecoming week 2021 with two daughters was a lot of work, yet a fabulous time for all of us. Lots of excitement, fun, and of course dressing up each day. Thank you to all who hosted and participated. It was so nice to have some normalcy back for the kids and ourselves. (Seeing the genuine smiles and hearing the laughs and giggles were pretty epic for me.)
Enon Baptist Church will have their annual Prayer Walk at the Franklinton Fairgrounds Thursday, October 14that 6 pm. All are invited to join in and pray at the stage or walk through the Fairgrounds to pray at specific areas. We are praying for a safe and wonderful 2021 Fair. Blessing of Food will be October 16th. Condolences to the families of William Russell, Al Barron, State Trooper Adam Gaubert, and Marilyn Campbell. Happy birthday to Brooklyn Pedersen, our awesome Enon Elementary School principal Shannon Fowler, my niece Angela Gay, and Brenda Bowen.
Enon Elementary School had Purple and Gold day Friday to celebrate Franklinton High School’s Homecoming. Our students did a great job participating and loved supporting the High School! Report cards go home October 12th. October 14th students may wear Fair Shirts with Uniform Bottoms and October 15th is $1 Dress Day. School will be out October 18th-October 22nd. We hope everyone has a safe and fun Fair! Students are learning about good food choices and healthy living from the LSU Ag Center. We enjoy having Mrs. Christi Mitchell come to teach the students about choices and how to be creative making meals.
I hope you all have a great time at the Fair and enjoy spending time with friends and family. I look forward to visiting with friends, seeing the animals, walking Mile Branch, listening to the music, and of course the variety of food! Our students will have various arts and crafts, stories, handwriting, pictures, and art on display and we can’t wait to see all the ribbons that will be awarded. See you at the Fair!
