Merry Christmas from my family to yours! I am behind on my Christmas shopping as usual, but at least a couple of major things have been purchased. I am looking forward to spending time with family and friends and hopefully enjoying cooler weather. We have seen beautiful Christmas lights, got our tree up inside, and a few lights outside. There is something magical about this time of year and no I don’t mean the presents under the tree. I enjoy creating things with my family, especially memories!
This past weekend we were able to attend Annalise’s first ever Powerlifting Meet for Franklinton High School at Salmen High School. When I say impressive, I was overwhelmed with the family like atmosphere, how the kids cheered each other on, no matter what school they were from, and the ENCOURAGEMENT from each student and adult. We didn’t have Powerlifting when I was in school and if we had I probably would not have attempted it, but I am so thankful for this program. This is an amazing program with awesome folks running it.
The Children’s Breakfast at Enon Baptist Church was a success. Lots of face painting, cookies, fun, and activities galore! Sunday night the children presented the Christmas Story. The sanctuary looks gorgeous with the poinsettias, tree, and garland set up. The Youth will be doing their Vegetable Fundraiser starting in January. This will help the Youth go to Camp Fuego from June 27th-July 1st.
Happy Anniversary to Mike and Natalie Sharp. Happy birthday to Robin Jones, Natalie Sharp, Judy Thigpen, and Annabeth Poole. Condolences to the families of Lance Stockstill, Tommy Flocke, Sebastian Larden, Doug Miller, Wade Polk, Denise Schlake, and the tornado victims.
Santa came to visit Enon Elementary School on Friday!!! We were so excited when he showed up on the fire truck to visit us! Thank you to Washington Parish Fire Dept District #8 for allowing Santa to use your fire trucks --- that made our day.
WPFD #8 had a toy drive at the Enon Dollar General and Santa visited the children there as well.
Enon Elementary School had a wonderful Christmas Program. Ms. Chelsey and Mrs. Haley did a fabulous job. Thank you to all who helped and to all the students, “We are so proud of you!”
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Break and enjoy your time off! I sure hope Mrs. Karen is on the Nice List! Maybe I should have talked to Santa more when he was at school. Until next week!
