The Washington Parish Free Fair is less than four weeks away! Volunteering is part of what keeps our fair free. Volunteers are needed at the Mt. Hermon School in Mile Branch Settlement. Anyone who is interested, please contact Mrs. Beverly Taylor at 985-515-7604.
Boiled shrimp dinners are being sold as a fundraiser for the Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club. The cost is $12.00, and the date is set for Friday, September 30th from 11 AM-1 PM. The dinners consist of 1 lb. of boiled shrimp, 2 potatoes, and 1 corn on the cob. Sounds delicious! For tickets, contact Mrs. Joni Sanders at 985-515-3775 or any Ruritan Club member.

The MHS Boys and Girls Cross Country Team competed in the Zydeco Scramble Meet last Saturday at Bogue Chitto State Park. The teams were awesome and the Yellowjackets were well represented!

An ADAPT Training was held this past Saturday for MHS teachers to learn various factors that influence our children. Those in attendance were: Brandie Kerbow, Jennifer Strickland, Lahoma Vernon, Matthew Lea and MHS Principal, Ms. Lee Bond. They will begin lessons with students on Life Skills, Conflict Resolution and much more. They would like to thank ADAPT for supporting Mt. Hermon School.
Bogue Chitto Baptist Church
Everyone is invited to join them Wednesday night at 6 PM for the final night of their Revival with Bro. Melvin Mordecai.
This is the final week for collecting canned and paper goods for the Baptist Children's Home. In October, they will be collecting an offering each week for Operation Christmas Child. Thier Harvest Festival is set for October 29th.

Fall Food Roundup for LA Baptist Children's Home is going on now. Donated items will be picked up from the church on Monday, Sept. 19th. Please bring canned goods, toiletries or cleaning supplies.
Week of Prayer for Georgia Barnette State Mission Offering began this past Sunday. The church goal is $ 640.

It's that time again! Tickets are now being sold for our Fall chicken dinner BBQ, which will be October 1st. The cost is $ 12. Last Sunday, all the grandparents were recognized during the morning worship service. Grandparents are such a blessing! Thank God for our heritage.
