Hello everyone! This month is moving right along. Summertime will be here before you know it!
Silver Creek Campground will have a Crawfish Cook-Off this Saturday at 10 AM. Register at the gate when you arrive. The team entry fee is $30 (max of 3 people per team). You must bring your own sack of crawfish (minimum of 35 lbs.), boiling pot, burner, seasonings, etc. 1st, 2nd and People's Choice awards will be given!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all the Mt. Hermon School Teachers and Paraprofessionals! They are blessed with the best!
A huge congratulations goes to Shunna Williams, MHS Junior who placed 3rd at the State Track Meet at LSU! She competed in the 200 Meter Race. MHS is so proud of her!
Congratulations to the State Young Author's winners: Madison Rodriguez, Syria Crain, Mason Taylor, Alexis Trahan, McKenzie Fountain, Raymond Budde and Kade McClendon. These MHS students placed in the district contest and their entries advanced to the state contest. Each of these students placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd respectively in the Louisiana Young Author's Contest.
Mr. Tim Crawford visited with Mt. Hermon 5th graders last Friday and offered each student a Bible. The students enjoyed learning about The Gideon Organization.
The 2023 MHS Seniors will take their final "Campus Walk" this Friday. Saturday, May 13th at 10 AM, they will graduate in the MHS gym!
Next Tuesday, May 16th, is Farmer's Safety Day for grades 3rd-6th. Thursday, May 18th, the Pre-K program will be at 9 AM and the Kindergarten graduation will be at 10 AM.
The MHS Golden Grad Reunion was held this past Saturday. Even with the rainy weather, it was a wonderful day for the graduates of 1941-1974. The one graduate from the Class of 1941 was Mrs. Huey Schilling Sullivan. The event was catered by Bo's Steakhouse. A good time was had by all.
MHS Beta Club and Softball team helped serve food and drinks to the Alumni of Mt. Hermon at the Godlen Grad Reunion. MHS is very thankful for all their Alumni and felt it was truly an honor to help serve them.
Church News
The ladies of Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church gathered last Saturday in the Fellowship Hall for a luncheon. We would like to thank Sis. Suzonne Garcia for preparing all the delicious food, and the flamingo decorations were perfect. The food, fun, fellowship and laughter sure helped make a gloomy day brighter!
Happy Birthday to Bro. Mike Hughes, Sis. Betty Sue Watson, Chanda Goings, Fairba Cade, Betty Holliday, Randall Schilling, Harper King, Shunna Williams and Brooklyn Falgout.
