Hello friends! One of the good things about summer time is snowballs. Mt. Hermon now has two stands to choose from, or you can go to both!
The McClendon family have snowballs at 35842 Dock Butler Rd. (across from Brooks), 2nd driveway on the left. They are open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 11:30 AM-6:30 PM, Tuesday 11 AM-4 PM and Thursday 11:30 AM-6 PM.
Garcia Express Snowballs is located at 37300 Sunny Hill Rd., near Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church. They have over 40 flavors to choose from and can make any flavor sugar free. Open everyday except Sunday from 4-6 PM.

The MHS Jackettes had an awesome time last week at American All Stars Dance Camp. Each Jackette received performance honors, including All Stars, Gold Star Dancers and special invitations to attend Elite Dance. Congratulations, Jackettes! The Jackettes dance team is sponsored by Mrs. Tracy Phillips, and they are very thankful for all the hard work she does for them.
Prep Day for Jr. High and High School students is July 27th. 7th and 8th graders will attend 8:30-10 AM. 9th-12th graders will attend 10-11:30 AM. Students are to wear their school uniform shirt. This will be a day to meet your teachers, get schedules, pay class fees, purchase spirit shirts and sign up for clubs.
School supply lists are available on the Washington Parish School Board website and the What's Happening Mt. Hermon Facebook page.
The Community Prayer Walk for Mt. Hermon School is Saturday, July 29th at 8 AM. Let's come together as a community to pray for safety and success for the upcoming school year.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church had a wonderful week of "Spark Studios" VBS! They learned about God our Creator, made crafts, learned new songs and played games during recreation time. Over $1000 was collected through offering to give to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home and Operation Christmas Child! Friday evening, parents and family enjoyed seeing the kids sing and dance to the songs they learned. Then an ice cream social was held in the Fellowship Hall.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church had five to get baptized last week! Jathan Dorsett, Kaleb Anthony, Jaicelyn Hale, Maggie Alford and Misty Crawford were all baptized in the flowing waters of the Bogue Chitto River. What a blessing! God is moving in our church!
We invite you all to join us. Tuesday evening at 7 PM is Prayer Meeting. Wednesday evenings at 7 PM is Children and Youth classes and Bible study for adults. Sunday mornings at 10 AM, come hear Pastor Randall Garcia and the Praise Singers. Sunday evenings at 7 PM, the Hope Alive recovery group meeting begins.
Sunny Hill Baptist Church will have their Vacation Bible School July 20th-22th, from 6-7:30 PM, for ages 4-9. Only two weeks away! They are getting excited to teach children about "The Armor of God"!
That's all for this week. Stay cool and hydrated and keep on smiling!
