Hello to you all! It's hard to believe that the summer break is almost over, and a new school year will be beginning, but here it is, already August!
I would like to wish a special "Happy Birthday" to my Aunt Brenda Wilson Pittman, who is celebrating her birthday today, August 2nd!
Silver Creek Campground is hosting a Corn Hole Tournament this Saturday. Registration begins at 9:30 AM at the pavilion with Mr. Darren Higgs, and the tournament begins at 10 AM. The entry fee is $15. For 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, cash prizes will be given!
Mt. Hermon School
Meet the Teacher for 1st-6th graders is this Thursday, August 3rd from 1-2 PM.
The Seniors of 2024 will start their final first day of school with a Senior Sunrise. They will have a sunrise service on the football field, then eat breakfast together.
First day of school is Monday, August 7th!
Sunny Hill Baptist Church
Vacation Bible School was wonderful, and they would like to thank all who helped and thankful for the parents and grandparents for getting the children there. Everyone enjoyed learning about the Armor of God.
All are welcome to attend Sunday school at 10 AM, morning worship at 11 AM, evening worship at 6 PM and Bible study on Wednesdays at 6 PM.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
Last Sunday morning, we welcomed Bro. Odom and family from Beaumont, Texas. He delivered a powerful message. The presence of the Lord was definitely there! We also had special guests, Elder Girard Ramsey and his wife, Mrs. Debra Ramsey from Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
Sunday night, at Hope Alive, Jade Nielson shared with us her testimony, and it was chip night. Hope Alive is a recovery group for anyone with a hurt, habit or hangup. Join us on Sunday nights at 6:15 PM for food and fellowship and 7 PM for the meeting. Recovery has a name and it's Jesus!
Next Sunday, August 6th at 10 AM, we will have Blessing of the Backpacks during the morning service. The children and youth will be prayed over as they begin a new school year. A Back to School Bash will be after the morning service.
