This weekend, a Hunter Education class is scheduled for Friday, August 11th from 5:30 PM-9:30 PM and Saturday, August 12th from 8:30 AM-2:30 PM, at the Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club. The course is taught by Brett Morris, firearms and ammunition are provided, and it's free. Please go to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries website to register (wlf.louisiana.gov).
Thank you to Family Dollar/Dollar Tree of Mt. Hermon for hosting a Back to School Party this past Saturday! They were giving out free chips and drinks, had games to play, Big Boyz Q was selling barbecue dinners, and the Praise Team from Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church was there. I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed the event.
Shrimp Dinner time! Next month, there will be two shrimp dinner sales! The Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club will have shrimp dinners for Friday, September 15th. To place an order, please call Joni Sanders at 985-515-3775. The District 9 (Mt. Hermon) Volunteer Fire Department will have their shrimp dinners for Saturday, September 30th. To place an order, you may contact any Dist. 9 volunteer, or call Shaunna Freeman at 985-335-0685. The dinners for both of these organizations is $12, and consists of 1 lb. of shrimp, 2 potatoes and 1 corn. The Ruritan Club and the Fire Dept. are both very beneficial to Mt. Hermon. The money that is raised from the dinners will be used in ways to help the community!
Sunny Hill Baptist Church invites everyone to join them as they study God's word. Sunday school-10 AM, Worship-11 AM, Evening service-6 PM, and Wednesday night Bible Study-6 PM.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church had Blessing of the Backpacks last Sunday. The children brought their backpack and were given a "Blessed Backpack" tag that they attached to a zipper. The Youth were given a tag, as they didn't bring their school bags. All the children and youth were prayed over for their safety, to learn a lot, and most of all, to live like Jesus.
Kids Revival will be September 9th and 10th.
Next Thursday, August 17th, the Young at Hearts will meet at 11:30 AM for lunch and fellowship at The Burger Basket in Osyka, MS.

We invite you all to join us on Sunday mornings at 10 AM for praise and worship and Sunday evenings at 7 PM for Hope Alive, our faith based recovery program for anyone with a hurt, habit or hang up. The next meeting will begin the 12th step. Come early at 6:15 PM for food and fellowship. Tuesday evening at 7 PM is prayer meeting, and Wednesday evenings at 7 PM is Bible study for adults and children and youth have classes and recreation time.
