What an amazing Homecoming night last Thursday on the MHS football field! It started off with the presentation of the Jr. High Homecoming Court. 6th Grade Maids: Madeline Brown and Chloe Hartley; 7th Grade Maids: Jaicelyn Hale and Hanna Taylor; 8th Grade Maids: Hannah Bruck, Amorie Bunch and Kari Travis. Congratulations to Kari Travis, for being crowned the MHS Jr. High Homecoming Queen!
Following the court, the Mt. Hermon Jr. High football team took the field against the Varnado Wildcats, with a final score of 56 to 0! Way to go Jackets! MHS is proud of you all!
Bogue Chitto Baptist Church
Choir practic for the Christmas cantata begins of Sunday nights. The chili cook off to raise funds for Operation Christmas Child is Sunday, Oct. 8th after morning service. A $10 donation gets you a bowl of chili with toppings, cornbread or crackers, salad, dessert and tea.
The WMU meets the second Tuesday of the month at 10 AM. Children and youth meet Wednesdays at 5:30. Regular services are at 9:30 for Sunday school, 10:30 for worship service and 5:30 on Sunday and Wednesday.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church
Wednesday night activities begin at 5:30 PM with supper being served. Prayer meeting, Disciple Kids and 3SixTeens youth class begins at 6 PM, and choir practice is at 7 PM.
Sunday, October 1st is the Annual Assocational Meeting and Mission Fair at Hillcrest Baptist in Franklinton at 4 PM.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
Sunday night at our Hope Alive meeting, it was chip night, and we were blessed to hear the testimony of Tosha McRaney. She spoke of how God brought her from a lifestyle of drugs and emotional hurt to healing. Tosha leads Dexter Oaks Recovery Classes at her local church and the Daughters of Zion, which is a home for women to recover. She has also written a book, Healing Emotional Wounds. For anyone needing help from any hurts, habits or hangups, come join us. Come early for food and fellowship at 6:15 PM. Meetings start at 7 PM.
Also, join us on Tuesday nights for prayer meeting, Wednesday nights at 7 PM for Bible study and children and youth class and Sunday mornings at 10 AM.
Sunny Hill Baptist Church
Fall Fest is this Saturday, Sept. 30th, 4-6 PM. Bring the children for fun and games!
Danny Bishop will be the guest singer on October 8th. Sunday morning Sunday school begins at 10, worship at 11. Sunday night service and Wednesday Bible Study starts at 6 PM.
