Father's Day is June 19th so Happy Father's Day to all those wonderful fathers out there. If you are fortunate to still have your father around, by all means make his day a special one. Make sure to spend some time with him and be blessed to still have him around. Those of us whose dad is deceased, we can reflect on those happy times and have wonderful memories of times spent with them.
My granddaughters Jennifer and Brianna with the kids had lunch with me on Thursday, May 26th. For lunch we had baked ham, peas, corn, greens, and cornbread fritter, their favorite. After lunch the kids played outside running about in the yard and playing in the rocks. It was good to have them visiting with me. They made my day very special.
Jackie and I went to a friend of hers to pick blackberries late one Sunday afternoon. I can't remember the last time I picked blackberries. I had scratches on my arms and legs from not being properly dressed for the chore. After about an hour as so, we decided we had enough of that. I was so hot in that briar patch, not to speak of all the bleeding scratches.

Every week or so gas prices continually rise. Some places gas is over $4.50 per gallon. In my May 30, 2007 news, a gallon of gas cost $3.09 per gallon. I guess in the long run that's not a great increase in fifteen years.
June 1st began hurricane season. Make sure you are prepared when one comes our way. We know that hurricanes can cause much damage and even take lives. On that note take precautions to be safe.
We need lots of prayers at Mt. Pisgah. Please pray for the sick, the shut ins and lonely. Also pray for our country and the ones who have lost beloved ones.
Thought for the week! "The worth of a book is to be measured by what you carry away from it."- James Bryce.
