Greetings to all!
Once again school bells ring. The first day for students was Friday, August 5th for Washington Parish Schools. Summer vacation is over and now back to the books, learning for a brand new school year.
The Mt. Pisgah women on mission gathered at the home of Linda Jean Folks for their July meeting. Nell called the meeting to order and asked for prayer request. Several were on the list; prayer was voiced for them and the missionaries. The devotion was given by Frances Schilling, Nell Smith, Fame Miller, Lois Thornton, Sue Alford, Frances Schilling, Florene Sorrell and the host, Ms. Folks. Following the blessing we all enjoyed Blueberry Crunch, ice cream, and plus other finger foods. A time of fellowship was also enjoyed. Everyone signed get well cards for the sick.
Richard Schilling was treated to a birthday meal on two occasions. I picked him up and we went to Sugar Shack where Aunt Doris met us for Thursday night. Then July 15th, the next day being his birthday at Sugar Shack with several family members and friends gathered. Richard enjoyed his outing on both occasions, receiving gifts and attention.
Celebrating August birthdays include Jada Norman, Joseph McGee, Shane Hill, Bro. Patrick Miller, Kevin Burch, Sasha McBeth, Tabitha McBeth, Jeanette Sumrall, Joyce Proffit, Lorraine Tullos, Katie Miller, Chyenne Wilkerson, Susie Tynes Ducoring, Ms. Wilda Magee, Lorie Tynes, Nernon, Theresa Thomas, Christina King, Tracy Hewitt, Jennifer Alford, Porcha Riley, Dianne Carter Morgan, Lisa James Stricklan, Kyle Duncan, Collin Cassidy, Easter Garcia & Randall Garcia, Ethan Miller, and Dorothy Jean Taylor.
Joshua Burch recently visited with his dad Charlie and family members. During his two week visit he enjoyed going to the movies, skating, and out to eat. He had two birthday parties, one held at Evelyn Burch's home and the other one at his dad's. At both occasions they enjoyed birthday cake, ice cream along with other party treats. He was excited about his birthday gifts and money he received.
Please pray for the sick, lonely, shut-ins, and bereaved. Many of these are our family and friends.
Thought for the week!
