Greetings to you from me!
We are still having some beautiful weather since the temperatures have warmed up. The trees are budding and flowers are beginning to bloom. Hopefully the weather doesn't change drastically and get cold again, and try them. In past years we have had some very cold temperatures, even some ice and snow in March. In past newspaper clippings I found the following clips and I wanted to share them with you. Saturday, March 20, 2010 was the first day of spring. The day was pretty, then on Sunday morning we had snow flurries . Another time was Tuesday morning March 4, 2014. The temperature fell and we had rain and sleet. There was ice in my yard causing the limbs to be so heavy with ice, causing them to break. Our weather was very unusual, having snowed three times, (small amount.)
Sunday, March 8 began emphasizing on the week of prayer for North American missions and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Miss Armstrong had a passion for missions and wrote numerous letters, pleading with women to pray and give to missions. The offering was named in her honor. Prayer pamphlets were made available and asked everyone to pray for the missionaries in their place of service. Prayer was voiced by Mack Brown for the mission effort.
Our Women on Mission Ladies met at Janice Schilling’s home for the February meeting. I gave the devotion; it was a reading about love. Several were on our prayer list. Prayers for these in our missions were voiced. Following the blessing for the food, everyone enjoyed a variety of goodies. Attending the meeting were Francis Schilling, Linda Juan Folks, Sue Alford, Martha June Miller, Florrine Sorrell, the host Janice Schilling, and myself. Several cards were mailed.
Attending a March birthday were: Katilyn Fortenberry, Alexa Bullock, Brittney Watson, A'muriel Williams, Simona Jones, Kenley Curole, Miles Ware, Michael Creel, Preston Richard, Conner Smith, Austin Bankston, Maliyah Lee, Shane Raymoud, Frances Mier, Kalyn Bazell, Steven Douglas, Bro. Richard Bailey, De Ann Pate Freeman, Patricia Pate Nette, Faye Boyd, Isabella Cooper, Alice Stewart, Teresa Clark, Lillian Passman, Amanda Tate, Toni McDonald, and Mike Huggins.
Every March 17th people of Irish ancestry all over the world celebrate St. Patrick's Day. They wear green, sing Irish songs and dance Irish jigs. For those not wearing green on St. Patrick's Day just might be pinched. This is a fun thing kids enjoy doing.
