Merry! Merry Christmas to you! Can you believe Christmas Day is Saturday? If you are not ready, you only have two more days; so, get yourself in a higher gear. Get it done!
I went to see my precious little Ava Marie. She is beautiful and so cuddly. Emmitt is constantly kissing her on the head. He is three years old. At that age, they don't understand they have to be very gentle with her. It was good sitting around holding the baby and also watching them.
A special thanks to the MHS Good Samaritans Club. They sponsored the recent Senior Citizen's holiday luncheon on Wednesday, December 8th, held at the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Fellowship Hall! Following the welcome by Ms. Lee Bond, the prayer by the church pastor, the MHS student choir sang Christmas songs led by Ms. LaHoma Vernon. Everyone enjoyed the lunch and music. The choir and the servers did a great job. Also, thanks to teacher, Mrs. Jacki Grady.
Happy belated birthday to my nephew Mark Seal, who had a birthday on December 11th. Hope you had a good day.
Our ladies enjoyed a fun outing on Saturday, December 11th. We had lunch at Mike's Restaurant in Amite, had a White Elephant exchange and revealed secret sister gifts. The food was delicious. Our waitress, Debra, made sure we had everything we needed and was kind enough to take our group picture before leaving. When I called to make reservations, all the rooms were already booked, but when we arrived, they right away found us a place, mostly private. Enjoying the outing were Janice Schilling, Linda Jean Folks, Sue Alford, Frances Schilling, Lois Thornton, Willie Bee Schilling, Billie Lewis, Cherie Smith, and me. Thanks to Billie for carrying most of us in her van.
The weekend of December 4th and 5th was enjoyed by our local folks and out of town visitors. The weather was perfect. The lighted parade on Saturday night was pretty and well attended. My sister and Justin rode in the parade. Mile Branch was decorated and booths selling a variety of items were in the commercial building. A live nativity scene was held at Mile Branch depicting the birth, Death and resurrection of Jesus and was put on by several churches in our area.
Charlie, Barbara, and Sara Burch drove to Florida to get Josh. He visited a week during Thanksgiving week with his dad Charlie and family. They carried him to see the Christmas lights in Tylertown and out to eat.
Fame Miller and family visited her mom, Mrs. Vera, over the Thanksgiving break.
Mrs. Jacki Grady and her dad Mr. Tommie Clemon enjoyed a vacation to Hawaii during the Thanksgiving holidays. They had a great time together. She was so excited telling me about their trip and some of the places they went.
Though for the week! Tis the season to be jolly, but most of all, it's the time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.
Have a blessed holiday.
