(Editor’s note: The Era-Leader apologizes to Mr. Lerand and his readers. His column was not published last week. This was our fault and not his!)
Hello again everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. If you are like me, you probably ate too much. We all have been blessed so much and we have so much to be thankful for. Now it's time to get ready for Christmas. Just four weeks away.
A big "shout out" to the Pine High School Raider football team. Even though they did not get the Win, last Friday night, they still had a great football season. Good job to all the team, and to all the coaching staff.
The 6th annual "Heart of Pine Christmas Festival" will be held Saturday, December the 9th , 2023 from 10:00 AM - 5:00PM. There will be several vendors to shop from. You can shop from 10 AM - 5PM and remember, a parade will begin at 4:45PM.
Happy Birthday to the following: . . . . . Please note that some of these are "be-lated" for which I apologize. Victoria Luper, Stacy Wilkes, Geri Holliman, Charles Reeves, Pam Dykes, Reagan Knight, Vicki Luper, Kaleb Voth, Kelsey Jenkins, Brandon Luper, Kim Edwards, Benji Jarrell, Brody Estave, Kelsey Jenkins, Jack Jenkins, Trey Jenkins, Celeste Crowe, and Natylee Williams.
Happy Anniversary to the following: . . . . Brian & Kim Edwards, Alex & Hollie Graham, Steven & Laura Byrd, and Scott & Pam Dykes.
Please remember the following families in your prayers as they mourn the loss of their loved ones: . . . . The Reggie Simmons Family and The Lillie Faye Breland Family.
Bible question from two weeks ago: . . . .. How many times and where will you find the exact phrase "be thankful" and also the exact phrase "be ye thankful" in your KJV Bible? The answer: ... From my research I found "be thankful" one time and that is Psalms 100:4. I also found "be ye thankful" one time and that found in Colossians 3:15. I know there are many more verses in the Bible that mentions about being thankful, but I thought it kind of neat that these 2 phrases were listed only one time each.
This week's Bible question: . . . . .Where is the following verse found in your KJV Bible? . . . . " For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving".
Quote for the week: . . . ."Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day."
Have a blessed week as we move out of November into December.
Till next time:
