The Smoky Mountains were calling our names, and we answered. The girls and I, along with some others, are on vacation at our home away from home. We are hoping the weather will cooperate and not be as hot as Louisiana, but also not rain the whole time.
I am so thankful mama and daddy were able to build us a simple little place to call our second home. Townsend, TN has been a part of me my entire life and just absolutely soothes my soul.
My sweet friend Fred Brumfield, who has been a part of my life for quite some time passed away the night before we left for vacation. Fred was a dear friend, our former pastor, and actually married James and me. He was there when my MawMaw was sick and preached at her funeral. Eventually his son Joel was our Youth Leader at Enon Baptist and was to my girls what Fred was to me. Just honest, pure, calm, and fun! I am going to miss my precious friend, but I know he is now with the Father.
Gracie Thigpen, Rebecca Ginn, and Bella Pecot had an amazing time staffing at Camp Fuego last week. They were there for Middle School Week and had a fantastic time teaching the younger students. We are so proud of these young ladies sharing their faith. Our Youth are so excited and getting ready for Camp Fuego the week of June 23-27.
Condolences to the families of Fred Brumfield, Gary Jones, Lee Stevens, Polly Carter, Christy Andras, Daniel Keating, Judy Lewis, J. L. Sharp, and Tori Stevens.
Happy birthday to Adam Pace, Heather Register Sachs, Amanda Porter, Whitney Quave Newman, Winola Holiday, Diana Casanova, Alan Fussell, my oldest brother Mike Sharp, Gail Hayes, and Emily Jones.
Congratulations to Chuck and Karie Lanham on the birth of their son Keith Charles Lanham.
When you drive through Enon check out our new sign at Enon Elementary School! It looks so sleek and clean!
If you have kiddos who are going into Pre-K or Kindergarten who haven’t registered yet, please do so asap. We would love to have them join our school family.
Please make sure to check out the Enon Library Facebook page for the Summer Reading Program schedule. The Enon Library also has special June Story Times in June on Fridays at 10:30 am.
Congratulations to our former Enon Eagles, Addison Leos and Isabella Ikerd. Addison was crowned Washington Parish Watermelon Festival Teen Queen and Isabella was crowned Washington Parish Junior Miss Queen. We are so proud of you!
I hope you all have a wonderful week and stay out of the heat as much as possible! Until next time…
