Last week I had one of the best watermelons I have had in a long time. It was one of those melons that took me back to my childhood. It was juicy and extremely sweet like the ones we used to grow with my PawPaw Cyril Wood and his friends. I was lucky enough to hear about a guy selling them in Bogalusa and stopped by it was totally worth it!
My daughter Gracie made it to Ireland this past weekend. I will try to include some pictures in the next couple of weeks if possible. She left New Orleans at 8 am on Friday and flew to Washington, D.C. She had a long layover until their flight at 7:00 pm their time and landed in Ireland at 7 am their time Saturday morning. They are 6 hours ahead of us, so it is fun trying to figure out when we can talk and not wake each other up! Haha
The Youth had a fantastic week learning about the Lord at Camp Arise. There was a time of worship, church, and fun. They had a great time with the residents at Fair City Health and Rehab singing, visiting, and playing games. The Children in Action are preparing to get their throws and decorations ready for the Washington Parish Free Fair. If you would like to help or donate, please contact Mrs. Alice or Mrs. Christy. The second and fourth Sundays in August the Children in Action (and anyone who would like to join) will be practicing sign language, sticks, puppets, drama, and singing. July 30th the Children in Action will have a Water Balloon Battleship.
