The Franklinton Junior high softball team split a pair of games last week as they defeated Mt Hermon 5-2 and fell to Loranger 11-6. The Lady Falcons will finish out their season this Thursday against Pine at FHS. This will also be Eighth Grade night for the Lady Falcons as well.
The Lady Falcons and Lady Yellow Jackets played to a 0-0 tie after the first inning before the Falcons scored two runs to go up 2-0. They added three more in the third before the Yellow Jackets added a run for a 5-1 score after three. The Yellow Jackets added another run in the fourth and the fifth was scoreless with the final being 5-2 in favor of the Falcons.
Julia Smith led the Falcons with a double and a single, Parker Magee and Raylinn Hines each had two singles, Gracie Polkey and Kendal Breaux both had a double and Christine Hampton and Arabella Gay each had a single.
Parker Magee pitched two and a third innings allowing no hits, three base on balls and striking out four, Ava Walker pitched one and two third innings allowing two hits, two base on balls and striking out two while Arabella Gay finished the final inning allowing one hit and striking out two.
In the Loranger game the Falcons jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the first inning and maintained that lead through the second before falling behind 7-5 in the third. Loranger added two more in each of the final two innings while the Falcons managed one final run in the fifth for an 11-6 final score.
Kendal Breaux had two singles for the Falcons, Gracie Polkey had a double and Christine Hampton, Raylinn Hines and Arabella Gay each had a single. Arabella Gay pitched the entire game for the Falcons allowing ten hits, five base on balls and striking out two.
