The Franklinton Lady Demons played at home Thursday February 29 against the Mt. Hermon Lady Jackets. Skylar Branch collected three hits in four at bats, as the Lady Demons defeated Mt. Hermon Lady Jackets 16-0 on Thursday. Branch tripled in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the second inning.
The Lady Demons got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Kayden Ard doubled, Branch tripled, Payton Galloway singled, Heaven McNeese doubled, Audrey Carter doubled, Amaya Robertson singled, Caylin Turnage tripled, and Laura Brauninger singled, each scoring one run.
The Lady Demons added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Galloway doubled, Shyanne Burris grounded out, and Turnage singled, each scoring one run.
Franklinton scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Robertson grounded out, scoring one run, Turnage drew a walk, scoring one run, Ard doubled, scoring one run, Branch doubled, scoring one run, and Galloway doubled, scoring one run.
Branch earned the win for the Franklinton Varsity Lady Demons. They gave up one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none. K Tetual took the loss for Mt. Hermon. The starting pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, giving up 16 runs on 18 hits, striking out none and walking three.
The Lady Demons piled up 18 hits in the game. Branch, Galloway, and Carter each collected three hits for Franklinton. Turnage, Robertson, Ard, and Branch each drove in two runs for the Lady Demons. Brauninger collected two hits for Franklinton in two at bats. The Lady Demons were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
K Budde led Mt. Hermon with one hit in two at bats.
