The coaches of District 9-4A that includes Franklinton, Lakeshore, Salmen and Pearl River recently released the All District football team and, as usual, the Demons of Franklinton High were well represented with six first team selections and three second team selections.
Selected to the All District First Team Offense were sophomore Kelly Daniels as a receiver with 32 carries for 242 yards and three touchdowns rushing and 21 receptions for 392 yards and 4 touchdowns receiving, junior quarterback Zion Anders selected as an athlete with his 60 rushes for 364 yards and 5 touchdowns while passing for 1439 yards with 14 touchdowns and 6 interceptions and senior kicker Cole Coletti who was 38 of 40 on extra points and four of four on field goal attempts including a 44 yarder against Pearl River which set a new school record.
Selected to the All District First Team Defense were junior linebacker Khaled Waliagha who led the team with 119 tackles and 3 sacks, senior linebacker Billy Gross who was second on the team with 110 tackles and 3 sacks and Cole Coletti was also selected as the first team punter with his booming punts that consistently put opponents in poor field position.
Selected to the second team All District offense were sophomore receiver Micah Hart who had 8 receptions for 156 yards and one touchdown and junior tight end D'Michael Ward who was an excellent blocker for the Demons. Junior Senqualon Conerly was selected on second team offense and defense as he had 33 carries for 208 yards and one touchdown on offense and had two interceptions of defense.
The future is bright for the young Demons football team as six of these eight all district selections are underclassmen and will play again next season bringing, much needed experience to the 2022 campaign.
