The Franklinton Junior High Falcons football team faced off with the Mt Hermon Yellow Jackets last Tuesday, getting a solid win there before also facing them on Thursday evening in Mt Hermon and winning that game as well, to the tune of 30-6.
On Tuesday the Falcons scored first when Khalifa McClendon passed to Kylan Pittman for a ten yard touchdown with 4:29 left on the clock. Matthew Harding ran in the two point conversion for an 8-0 score.
After a Yellow Jackets fumble the Falcons scored again when Khalifa McClendon ran the ball in from eight yards out. The conversion was stopped and the Falcons were up 14-0 with 1:49 on the clock.
The teams traded punts before the Falcons Jason Dickerson intercepted a pass. Franklinton moved the ball to the one before time ran out and the 14-0 score stood at halftime.
In the second half the Falcons scored on the first play when Kyerion Yearwood passed to Harding for a 70 yard touchdown. Khalifa McClendon ran in the two point conversion and the score was 22-0.
After Jason Dickerson recovered a fumble for the Falcons, they used the great field position to score again when Khalifa McClendon went in from 16 yards out. The conversion was good and the Falcons were up 30-0.
Franklinton fumbled in their own territory and Mt Hermon had an opportunity but the Falcons defense kept them out and preserved the shutout.
The Falcons will be back in action on October 8 as they travel to Varnado to take on the Wildcats.
