The Franklinton Junior High Falcons football team recently played the Varnado Junior High Wildcats and came out on top of a 30-0 score. With the win Coach Andy Creel and his Falcons were set to play for the Washington Parish Junior High Championship which was to be held on November 16 at Varnado against the Pine Junior High Raiders. The two teams with the best records of the four parish Junior High teams qualified for the Championship game.
After a scoreless first quarter the Falcons scored in the second when Damikies McClain scored on a 32 yard run with 6:20 on the clock. Jacob Crain passed to Kaleb Causey for the two point conversion and the Falcons were up 8-0. Just over two minutes of clock later Deon Melton passed to Kaleb Causey for a 64 yard touchdown to put the Falcons up 16-0 as Rajon Covington ran in the two point conversion.
Crain passed to Causey 18 yards, this time for a touchdown with 2:02 left in the second to put the Falcons up 22-0 as the conversion failed. This would be the score at the halftime intermission.
Midway of the third period McClain scored on a nine yard run and Crain passed to Avontez Brumfield for the conversion and the 30-0 final score as the fourth quarter was scoreless.
