Parish sheriffs have fallen in re-election attempts

In losing his bid for re-election this past Saturday, Randy Seal became yet another Washington Parish sheriff who was felled by the voters.
Since 1991, when Duane Blair defeated incumbent Benny Rayburn, four Washington Parish sheriffs have lost re-election bids.

Police Department promotions spark lengthy discussion at council meeting

The Franklinton Board of Aldermen and Mayor Greg Route met on Tuesday, November 14 at the Franklinton Municipal Building. The meeting was opened with prayer by Rev. Pepe Tate, Magee's Temple COGIC, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
