Students visit library, receive library cards

14 different junior high school classes in Washington Parish visited the Franklinton Library on Main Street during the past month. During the visits, a total of 200 new library cards were sign up for by the students.

Life's a Garden: There’s no place like home

Already we are moving into mid-September. We have begun planting our fall crop at our greenhouses at Garden Works. This week we are filling 20,000 pots with the soil that will be these seedlings' new home. We will water each pot well, dibble a hole right in the center of each pot then stick the tiny root balls at the correct depth.

FHS Demons drop a heartbreaker to Fontainebleu

The Franklinton Demons football team took one on the chin last Friday as they fell to Fontainebleu in a heartbreaker, 22-21. The Demons’ record now stands at 1-2 on the season. The Demons will travel to Denham Springs this Friday. The Yellow Jackets got by the Demons last season 26-20.

Bowling Green defeats Wayne Academy to open district action

Bowling Green took on their first MAIS District3-4A team of the season on Friday night when they visited Wayne Academy Jaguars in Waynesboro, Mississippi for their first game of district action. Upon the final buzzer, the Bucs' 30-20 victory brings their season to 4-2, and taking a 1-0 district standing.
