Police officers and others helping with Saturday evening’s Christmas Block Party paused long enough to pose for a group photo. The Police Department’s Block Party was well attended. In addition to fun and photos with Santa, attendees also performed s good deed by donating toys for kids and cold weather items for the elderly.

Ellis Eugene Barber, 67, a resident of Franklinton passed away Monday morning September 8, 2025 after a lengthy illness. He was retired after a long career as a cross-country truck driver. Ellis drove a million miles for J.B. Hunt Trucking and later drove another million for USA Trucking, delivering goods to every part of the United States.

Priscilla was born April 25, 1958 and Marc was born December 10, 1950. They were married on November 17, 1980 and spent over 44 years by each other’s side.
