Bogue Chitto State Park, located south of Franklinton, will soon be increased in size by more than 800 acres.
The park is currently 1,786 acres and with the expansion it will be 2,594 acres, which is a 45 percent increase.
The Office of Louisiana State Parks partnered with the Trust for Public Land to obtain the new property.
