Arraignment of Bogalusa mayor is postponed

The arraignment of Bogalusa Mayor Tyrin Truong which was scheduled for Monday of this week has been postponed until Monday, December 1.
Turong, age 26, is charged with numerous corruption offenses.
He was arrested this past January by state police during a drug trafficking investigation.

STEAM events being planned for 2025

In 2024, the YMCA of Bogalusa, in partnership with TRCG and with vital community support, launched the inaugural May 4th Family STEAM Event at the Washington Parish Fairgrounds. This initiative engaged over 300 participants, demonstrating an apparent community demand for enhanced STEAM education opportunities.
