Hello there! I hope all is well. Hope that many of you saw what a blessed time it was for our 50 years reunion. The two names that I left out were my classmates, Myra Monday Campbell and Cynthia Lewis. Myra brought her spouse with her, and she was on one of the committees. I am sorry that happened.

Purple Heart Parish signs are up

With Washington Parish now officially a Purple Heart Parish, signs are in place at roadway entrances to the parish. The Purple Heart designation was made official last month, recognizing those parish residents who, while serving their country, were wounded or killed due to enemy action, thus receiving the U.S. military's Purple Heart award.

Washington Parish Burn Ban Is Announced

UPDATE: Although some areas of Washington Parish did receive a slight amount of rainfall Sunday afternoon, it will take a sustained rainfall or rainfalls to reverse the dry conditions currently affecting the parish. So the burn ban remains in effect.
