FHS student wins best of show in duck stamp competition

Drew Brown, the 16 year old son of Justin and Meghann Brown, is an art student at FHS in Mrs. Taffenie Mizell's class. Drew's artwork was submitted for the 33rd annual Federal Jr. Duck Stamp competition. The art competition raises funds to educate and engage our nation's youth in wildlife and wetlands conservation and outdoor recreation.

Franklinton Police Chief disappointed with Council's decision on hiring

In a special meeting this past Friday, March 14, the Franklinton Board of Aldermen voted to hire one new fulltime police officer.
At the same time, the Board of Aldermen did not hire an investigator for the town police department, nor was a new volunteer reserve officer authorized.
