The first day of school is fast approaching. Only two more weeks of summer break! For Kindergarten-12th grade students, Mt. Hermon School will have their Prep Day Tuesday, August 4th at 5:30 PM. Students will be able to meet their teachers, drop off school supplies in their classroom, pay school fees, purchase a yearbook, and buy an MHS spirit shirt. Pre-K students will have orientation at 8:00 AM on the first day of school, which is Thursday, August 6th.
The Washington Parish Council on Aging proudly celebrated the official grand opening of the Mt. Hermon meal site this past Friday. It is located at Plainview Church on Vernon School Road. If you are 60 years of age or older, you may become a member. You will receive nutritious meals in a welcoming environment, fellowship and new friendships, fun games, activities, programs, and more. A Farmer’s Market will be set up this Sunday, July 26th from 7:00 AM till at the Warnerton Hardware Store, located at 31569 Schroeder Road. No set up fees for vendors! Bring your fruits, veggies, meats, dairy, baked goods, eggs, honey, jams, jellies, crafts, plants and flowers, handmade soaps, candles, and even small farm animals including puppies and kittens. Barbecue plates will be available for only $10, and vintage cars to see!
