Happy Wednesday to you all! I think these past two weeks have been the hottest yet. Ironically, it was about two weeks ago when I saw some cute fall decorations at Dollar General. Fall is coming! It just can’t get here soon enough.
A 50th wedding anniversary celebration, honoring Rachel and Earl Gill, will be this Saturday, August 1st, 2-4 PM, in the fellowship hall of Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church. All are invited to stop by, even if you can only stay a few minutes. They would love to see all of their family, church family, and friends, old and new.
Jambalaya dinners are being sold to help support Ms. Lahoma Vernon and her family after a fire destroyed their home. Jambalaya plates include green beans, fried chicken, bread, roll, and dessert for only $10. Plates will be ready for pick-up Thursday, August 13th at the Mt. Hermon Ruritan Club, from 9 AM-1 PM. The helpful folks at Seal’s Family Farm and Supply have successfully completed the propane certification training and passed their test! They are now officially ready to fill your propane bottles. The Seal family is excited to continue adding services that make life a little easier for our community.
If you are 60 years of age or older, the Washington Parish Council on Aging invites you to the new meal site in Mt. Hermon. It is located at Plainview Church of Christ Holiness USA (24649 Vernon School Road). Stop by Monday-Friday between 9 AM-12 PM to enroll. You will get to enjoy a free, hot, and delicious lunch every week day, games, activities, fellowship, and laughter in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church will have a Blessing of the Backpacks this Sunday during the morning service at 10 AM. All children, teenagers too, be sure to bring your backpack. Many blessings and prayers will be given, as each student is beginning a new school year.
