Mt. Hermon School
Congratulations to these two alumnae, Syria Crain and Chloe Raybourn, for making the President’s List for the summer semester at Southeastern Louisiana University. Syria just graduated from MHS in May, and Chloe graduated in 2023.
The Jr. High football team only has two more regular games of the season. Come on out to support these boys September 22nd in Pine, and the 29th at home. They will play Varnado on the 29th, and it’s Homecoming! Games begin at 5:30 PM.
Good luck to the track team as they compete this Saturday at the Zydeco Classic Cross Country Meet, which will take place at the Bogue Chitto State Park.
The community meeting that has been set up for the school board to get input from citizens is scheduled for Thursday, September 10th at 5:00 PM. The regular school board meeting will begin at 6:30 PM. It is important that we all come together as a community to show our support!
Prior to the community meeting, we will meet at the flagpole in front of the school at 4:30 PM for a time of prayer. Let’s all stand together and pray together to lift up our school, our students, staff, community, and our future.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
This Saturday is food distribution day with Second Harvest Food Bank, from 11AM-1PM.
The Washington Parish Council on Aging would like to invite all who are at least 60 years of age to their new meal site in Mt. Hermon. It is located at Plainview Church of Christ Holiness, 24649 Vernon School Rd. Monday through Friday at 10 AM, they play Bingo or have Bible study, then a hot lunch is served at 11.
