Mt. Hermon School
MHS is pleased to announce that Mr. Ryan Skluzacek is the new Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. He has been a Washington Parish educator for seven years, and has taught Science in grades 6th-8th throughout his career. In 2019, he was named Parish Teacher of the Year. Also in 2019, he obtained his Master’s Degree from Louisiana College.
Mr. Skluzacek is passionate about education, and believes that as a member of the MHS family, he can make a positive impact on the students, teachers and community. In his spare time, Mr. Skluzacek enjoys traveling with his wife, McKenzie and their two children. He is also an avid reader and enjoys spending time outdoors. Welcome to MHS!

Bogue Chitto Baptist Church
Choir practice will resume Wednesday, August 4th at 6 PM.
Sunday, August 8th, during the morning service, the children will share their summer camp experiences. Pre-K-3rd grades will dismiss and begin children’s church. Dinner on the grounds will follow the service. The monthly business meeting will follow the evening service.
Tuesday, August 10th, WMU will meet at 10 AM. All ladies are encouraged to attend.
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church
August 21st, 9AM-2PM, Woodland Park Baptist Church of Hammond will be hosting Women Who Lead Seminar. This is a regional equipping event for the women leaders of the church-Sunday school teachers, women’s ministry, etc. The cost is $12 per person (includes lunch). Friday, Aug. 6th is the deadline to register. Please let Judith know if you are interested.
Sunny Hill Baptist Church
Sunny Hill was filled with the joy of children’s laughter as nine young ones participated in Children’s Church, led by Sonja McCann. Followed by a sermon on God’s time (Deuteronomy 32:10) and His expectation that His people are to be joyous in the time that we have here on Earth. There were 29 in attendance at the worship service, and 7 in Sunday school. They hope to see you next week at 9 AM for Sunday school, and 10 AM for Sunday worship.
Mt. Hermon United Pentecostal Church
This Thursday, August 5th, the Young At Heart group will meet at 10:30 AM for fun, food, and fellowship.
Mark your calendar for next Friday, August 13th at 7 PM. Amite Pentecostal Church will be hosting a Women’s Conference. Sis. Melissa Curtis will be the special speaker.
