Hello once again to all my faithful readers. We had a bad thunderstorm Monday morning, March 31st. I had school that day. When I got ready to leave for school, it was raining so hard you could not see the road, so I decided to wait a little while. It finally slowed down some but was more than a sprinkle. I made it to school safely. Thank you, Lord. When I arrived at school the power was off. After a couple hours or so the school was dismissed and everyone went home. Later I heard that trees were twisted off and limbs were everywhere in our community. Thank the Good Lord for watching over us once again.
Sunday morning service our pastor, Bro. Lenard's sermon was on "Making Preparations". Just as we prepare for our daily activities, we are to make center preparations for our heavenly home with Jesus.

The student Art display and sale, at the D.A. Varnado Store Museum continues through April. We have ten MHS students who have entered their art. You need to go see all the artwork and vote for your favorite one. The exhibit that gets the most votes will be the people's choice. I've seen the art and it's all good; some are really outstanding. Our students include, 4th grade: Paisleigh Stogner, Ashdyn Stafford, and Olivia Brown, 6th grade: Mckayla Gray, Grace Anne Stevens, Braxton Rogers and Bentlee Hebert, 9th grade: Presley Brinker and Lainey McQuisten, and 10th grade: Meggan Fountain. A total of 352 art exhibits were entered by Washington Parish Students. There will be cash prizes for students and the schools. They are all to be complimented for a job well done. The art pieces can be purchased.
April 1st was my friend Abnes Schilling's birthday. He was quite a guy. We enjoyed pulling jokes on each other. He pulled more jokes on me than I did on him. One I'll never forget was when he helped me with food at a dinner held at the church. Later his wife Doris found a millionaire pie in her refrigerator and wanted to know where it came from. Finally, he told her it was mine. One of the worst jokes I pulled on him was a birthday present left in the mailbox for him. It was wrapped and tied with a pretty bow. If you want to know the contents here it is, it was a fake snake. This time I really got him. For a while he didn't know where it came from, but the truth finally came out Ha! Ha! His family and friends wish him a heavenly birthday. We all miss him.
