Greetings once again to all my faithful readers! I hope this finds you good and feeling chipper. Can you believe it's September? Time is moving right along.
My first day to go to school was Friday, August 22nd and back on Monday the 25th. It was great seeing everyone. Some of the students were calling out to me through the school bus window before unloading. Seeing all those sweet smiles was great. We have some new teachers and students on the MHS campus. Everything seems to be going just fine. Our principal, Mrs. Stacy Bond, was walking a little slower than usual. She has a hurt foot. Hopefully she will soon be better. Several students are already wanting brownies. When they see me, they think of good ole brownies. My answer was, hopefully soon.
It's time for the fall food round up for the Louisiana Baptist children's home. Every year at this time, we gather food and paper products, toilet items, cleaning products, and etc. If you desire to give cash, they purchase milk, bread, eggs, meat, and fresh produce. The truck will make pickups in our area on Monday, September 15.
Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church held their fall revival with night service through Friday night. Their pastor Bro. Duane Ball preached on Sunday. The visiting speaker was Bro. Trey Jenkins for Monday through Friday. I was privileged to go on Sunday and on Friday night. The ladies of the church prepared a delicious lunch following the morning service. They had fellowship after Friday night service, celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. They were recognized and we joined and sang to the ones celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Friday night there was extra singing by several. Finger foods and assorted desserts were enjoyed by all. By the way, this is the church I grew up in and it's always a blessing to visit and see everyone, at least those I know. Randall and Dona Penten also went to the revival.

It was good seeing Billie Lewis back at church Sunday. She is doing better with surgery on her foot. We've been missing her. She is our piano player. For the past few weeks, we've had a young guy named Eric playing for us. Continue to pray for healing of Billie's foot.
Please pray for our church, church family, friends, and neighbors. A visit or a phone call to the lonely, shut ins, and the nursing home residents would be welcome. We can make a difference in the life of others. We just need to be willing to do so.
Thought for the week! The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person's determination. - Tommy Lasorda.
