Fall Greetings and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Tomorrow, being the day, we celebrate Thanksgiving, I pray that your day will be filled with many blessings. Being with your family and friends enjoying a good meal is special and something we can be grateful for.
Guess what, my friends, I have more to share with you. I'm still celebrating my 85th birthday. Monday afternoon November 3rd my WMU ladies had me a beautiful cake and ice cream at Ms. Janice Schilling house. Then Jackie surprised me again and took me to see Jacob Eder, my sweet Elvis songbird. He was in concert in South Carolina. We had VIP front row seats. Listen to this! I was selected to go on stage for one of the "Hot Seats", (me and two others). Before leaving the stage Jacob sang happy birthday to me. We had a wonderful time at the show and even saw a few folks that we knew. Two of them came to my Elvis birthday celebration in Franklinton two years ago. Even at my age, I can still have fun and move around fairly well. I am so thankful to have my family and friends who love and support me. Since I've celebrated for over a month, I can say it was great and have lots of sweet memories.
The Washington Baptist Association Women's Missions and Ministry, October meeting was hosted by Hillcrest Baptist Church ladies. Special guest was Loretta Rivers. She shared on ways to minister to the grieving in our church. I enjoyed learning different ways to deal with grief. There were seventy-nine (79) in attendance; October birthdays were recognized and sang to them. I was one of the October birthdays.
Seventeen churches were represented. As usual Ivy Kennedy, our director, did a great job making everyone feel loved and welcomed. Hillcrest ladies had twenty (20) in attendance and were presented the banner. Fried chicken, potato salad, fruit tray and dessert were enjoyed by all. The ladies at my table were Virginia Jones, Barbara Williams, Jackie Baker, and Karen McDaniel. On the tables were a cute little package of cotton candy for everyone featuring a highlight of the fair.
Mrs. Vickie Creel celebrated her 97th birthday on three occasions, held at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. The Saturday afternoon party I was privileged to be invited to. There were approximately forty there. Everyone enjoyed decorated birthday cake, chips and dip, and beverages. She also celebrated on two other occasions. One was when folks from Lawrence Creek Church honored her. Mrs. Vicki was really blessed with birthday wishes and visits. The time I went it was good to see Nellene Barber, whom I haven't seen in a long time. It was good to visit with Bronis and Melda Faye who attended the party.

Couples celebrating their wedding anniversary in November are Brandon and Stacie Starnes, Bro. Joe and Barbara Baugh, Tracy and Jessica Manchester, Jeremy and Taylor Mckenzie, and Joey and Amanda Painter.
Happy belated birthday to my special friend Thannie Conerly who celebrated her birthday on November 15th.
