Happy, Happy New Year to you! Now that the holidays are over and a brand-new year is here maybe we can settle down. During the holidays everyone has been busy getting ready for Christmas, the shopping, cooking, decorating plus much more. It is always a special time for getting together with family and friends.
My son Bryan and I were invited to have Christmas lunch on Saturday, December 20th, at Jennifer and Jason's home in Tylertown. She and Breanna prepared a great meal of ham, green beans, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato turnovers, and then cream soup, red lobster biscuits and dessert. We really enjoyed our time with Jennifer and Jason Watkins, their children, Emily, Emmett and Ava; Breanna and Tyler Graham with children Alaya, and Kalem. We enjoyed playing a card game while the kids played. Jennifer had several decorated trees in every room. The kids were anxious to show us their Christmas tree in their home.
My friend and classmate Lois Tynes celebrated her birthday on December 22nd. Her family came on Saturday for a birthday celebration. They had finger food and birthday cake made of cupcakes in the number of her age. She enjoyed the day with her family.
Happy January birthday to the following special people. Have a great day. My basketball player Nicole Riley, Charlie Burch, Kathy Dykes, Cindy McBeth, BlaikLynn Emmerson Moore, Suzette Watson Carter, Bro. Gerald Wright, Bro. Darrell Miller, Chase Miller, Brodie Haley, Susan McNeese, Jerri McNeese, Jacey Moran, Crystal Crouch, Camran Guyn, Gabrielle Brumfield, Malerie Taylor, Linda Guy, Stone Guy, Larry Guy, Bro. Jimmy Oalmann, Jeremiah Oalmann, Matthew Mier, and Roland Burch.
We continue to have several on the prayer list. Sue Alford is home recuperating from knee surgery. Valerie has recently had back surgery. Also pray for the family of Janice Morgan Roberts of Franklinton; the family of Don Slaven of Mt. Hermon community. It's always hard when we lose a member of the family but thanks to the Lord he can take care of our hurts and pain.
Thought for the New Year!
Reflect on your past blessings, of which every man has many; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. --- Charles Dickson
Signing off for now. Have a blessed week, stay warm and lets make 2026 a good one. Give someone a hug and by all means Keep on Smiling! It looks good on you. Prayerfully Nell.
