Hello to all my readers! May has arrived and there will be lots of activities from now until school is out. I’ve been to school almost every day for the past two weeks and the students are counting the days until summer vacation. We have only eleven more days of this school year. The last day is May 21st. We’ve gotten lots of rain over the past couple weeks. On Friday May 1st was really windy and cool plus it rained all day.
Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. Don’t forget that Mother’s day is May 10th. Hopefully your day is filled with much joy and happiness. You deserve the best if you are fortunate to still have your dear mother with you to make sure you make her feel loved. My mother went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, January 31st, 2010. I think of her everyday of my life and appreciate what she did for me over the years. I will always cherish all the sweet, fond memories of her.
Birthday Celebration
Twas a “Red Letter” day for Mrs. Mary Tate when she was honored on her 85th birthday. The celebration was held at her son Calvin’s. Family, friends and neighbors gathered for the joyous occasion on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Upon her arrival she was greeted with Happy Birthday singing. Everyone enjoyed a deciduous meal: chicken, pork, seafood pasta, potato salad, baked beans to name a few. By the way Calvin also had a birthday a day or so after Mrs. Mary. Everyone also enjoyed birthday cake. Mrs. Louise Hart voiced the blessing. The birthday girl wore a beautiful corsage with “85” in the center. She was all smiles and happy throughout the afternoon visiting with everyone. Jacki and I were privileged to be invited.
Saturday, April 25th was an exciting day when I attended a birthday/graduation party honoring Alex Brok, a retirement party for Mrs. Louise Hart and a fish fry held at the church. Lots of good food and fellowship was had on all three occasions.

There was a mistake in last week's news. It should have read: My beautiful Easter basket was from Frances Schilling, Janice Schilling and Loretta Booty. Girls, please forgive me.
