Hello once again to all my faithful readers. Can you believe it is already the month of June? Last week we continued to get rain every day. The sun would be shining so bright and beautiful, before the day was over, here comes the rain again. Before I can get the yard mowed it rains just enough to stop me. Oh, well! I'll get it mowed one day.
For the past few weeks our Washington Parish Schools have had graduations, parties, and celebrations. Saturday morning, May 9th, in the school gym there were 23 graduating seniors, and most of them I had the opportunity to have a part in their education over the past 13 years. Matter of fact I've been a substitute teacher at MHS for 20 years now. Several of them are very special to me. I'm surely going to miss their "good morning" smiles and hugs. They are like my grandchildren, and they call me Maw Maw. They love my brownies, banana pudding, and banana bread. I enjoy showing my love to the students.
Congratulations to all the senior graduates in our area as you face adulthood, going to college or getting a job, may you be successful in all you do. Remember to always put God first and everything will fall into its proper place and you will have a successful life.
Jackie and I went to see the play, "Beetle Juice" held in the Pine school gym. The students did a great job acting out their parts.
Shelby Burch Jr. recently celebrated his birthday. His son Charlie treated him to lunch at Sister's Cafe. That night a family gathering was at Bourne's, where they all enjoyed a seafood buffet. Attending were his daughters Barbara, Sara, and his sons Charlie and Chris. Also, there were Eveleyn and Jose'. A good time was had by all.
Happy June birthday to the following special ones. My granddaughter Breanna Brooke, Graham Alford, my great grandson Mason Tyler Alford, my great grandson Morgan Athey, my great granddaughter Jaden Rayne David, Tammy G. Shedd, Brenda Burch. Thought for the week! Lord, thank you for each moment you give us. May we strive to honor you with this gift by using our time wisely for your honor and glory.
It's been good visiting with you this week and I look forward to the weeks ahead. Take care of yourself, stay cool and dry. Keep smiling!
