Hello Everyone!
As you know the 2026-2027 school year began on August 6th. I haven't been to school yet, but look forward to seeing everyone. Let's all get onboard and make this school year at MHS a great one.
Remember it takes us all working together to make a difference. The school buses will be traveling taking students to and from school. Please drive carefully. By the way, make sure you obey school zones.
Since we haven't had much rain, we are currently under a "Fire" ban. Please do not burn trash of any kind. Please take caution. The last time I mowed, the grass didn't cut good. It probably was because the ground was so dry.
Also big limbs are falling from the trees. The trees also need water. The few little rain showers we've gotten over the past weeks helped out, but not nearly enough. Also it has been desperately hot.
Jackie and I recently spent the day in Covington. She had doctors appointments at 9AM through 3:30PM. As I sat in the waiting room, I met some interesting people. They shared about health problems and I listened patiently. Most of them were younger than me. I tried to give encouraging words, "Keep the faith; The Lord would take care of everything."
Between appointments we ate and shopped. I met this young lady in Hobby Lobby. She talked about the weather saying "Who is ready for cooler weather, etc." In the meantime, she told me it was her birthday. When I finally was able to get a few words in, I just smiled and said Happy Birthday to her. Before leaving, I sang Happy Birthday to her and wished her well. She was all smiles and happy.
As I was singing to her, everyone just looked at me. That didn't bother me. I was making her day.
Keep Jackie in your prayers. She has been having some health problems.

Please pray for the sick, shit-ins and the needs in our community. Also pray for the families of Ms. Liz Heck, Doris Guy, George Stevens and Sean Thomas who lost loved ones. You are in our prayers.
