Fair Time! Fair Time!
Well folks, our Washington Parish Free Fair is only 1 week away. It's a time we all look forward to. We are out of school for a week for the fair. There is much to see from the front entrance to the midway and in between. By the way, the parade will roll on Wednesday morning October 21st. We always have a great parade with lots of colorful and beautiful floats. This year's theme is "Stars, Stripes and Washington Parish Nights".
Happy October birthday to the following: Rusty Smith, Hanna Taylor, Jamarian Tate, Shalanda Dillon, Louise Holmes, Lacey Richard, Cody Hughes, Shawn Hill, Kyle Russel Hartzog, Bobby Accardo, Carson Ricks, Troy Nicholson, Kolt Creel, Sienna Strickland, Makennie Roberts, Norma Roberts, Arayah Garcia, Kelis Magee, Lynnleigh Alford, Chelby Nguyen, Twins Davine and Kaleigh Hoffman, Cooper Waller, Waylon Crowe and Jett James Miley.
The Franklinton First Baptist church ladies did a great job hosting our monthly Women's Ministry and Missions meeting on Saturday, September 19th. The guest speaker was Jimmy Stafford. He showed slides as he shared about his trip to India. His presentation was very interesting and informative. Everyone enjoyed an international meal prepared by the ladies of the host church which was very tasty.
Ivy shared about upcoming events and as usual was happy to see everyone. There were 73 in attendance with 21 churches represented. The host church got the banner with 18 ladies attending. Numerous door prizes were drawn. Those with September birthdays were recognized and had their picture taken. We sang Happy Birthday to them. It was great seeing everyone again since I have not been able to attend the last two monthly meetings.
I've met the new teachers at MHS. Mrs. Patricia Waters is the 4th and 5th grade science and social studies teacher. Norman Waters is the Jr. High science teacher. Mrs. Catherine Davis is back with us as the 3rd grade teacher. Mrs. Yolanda Brumfield is our Vice Principal. A warm welcome to our new teachers! We are happy to have you on our MHS team.
Please pray for all the needs around us. A phone call will surely brighten their day and they will know they are loved.
Thought for the Week!
Anyone can count the seed in an apple. Only God can count the apples in a seed.
I look forward to visiting with you next time. Hope to see you at the fair. Be prepared if it rains or is cool at night. Remember there will be lots of people on the fair grounds, so please be considerate of others. They want to have a good time also.
Prayerfully, Nell
