The Pine Raiders baseball team won one and lost one against Bogalusa last week. The Raiders soundly defeated the Lumberjacks, 14-4 on April 1 at home before the Jacks slipped by them on Thursday, 7-6.
This leaves the Raiders with a 7-14 overall record with games coming up with Doyle at home on April 10 and on the road at Holden on April 14.
The Raiders are currently #27 in the division III non select power rankings. The top 24 teams qualify for the playoffs.
The Raiders fell behind 1-0 in the first and 2-0 in the top of the second before scoring six runs in the bottom of the second. The Raiders added another in the third and six more in the fourth for a 13-2 lead. The Lumberjacks scored two runs in the top of the fifth before the Raiders added another run with not outs to end the game via the ten run rule, 14-4.
Trace Steele, Christian Williams, Levi Spears and Kage Freeman each had a single each while Nick Duncan and Kylan Magee had two singles. Trey Knight lead the Raiders offensively with a single and a double.
Griff McCormack pitched the complete five inning game allowing four hits, walking two batters and striking out five batters.
Later in the week the Lumberjacks were successful in defeating the Raiders, 7-6 in an important district game on the road.
