The Franklinton Demons football team won a much needed game for their district opener against the Hannan Hawks last Friday on the road, 50-17. The Demons’ overall record now stands at 2-4 and they are 1-0 in district action. The Demons will host Pearl River this week at home for homecoming. Pearl River is 4-1 on the season and the Demons defeated them 26-13 last season.

Coach Saltaformaggio was happy with the win and being 1-0 in the district. "I told them all week long we're 0-0, these guys are 0-0 don't look at their record they have some good players, #7 is as good of a player as I've seen in a while, we've just got to come out and keep working hard. I'm happy with where we are, we're 1-0 in the district and every week you want to get another win up the ladder. I was real happy with tonight and I thought our defense played well. It's nice that we're getting on track a little bit, the change at quarterback was astronomical."
Coach Salt doesn't want to overlook Pearl River but thinks the Demons tough non district schedule has prepared them. "I think again next week we're going against a 4-1 Pearl River team and I tell our guys all the time I'll put our opponents up against any of the opponents any of our district opponents have played and nobody matches what we've played."
