The Franklinton Junior High Falcons football team played a spring scrimmage against the Kentwood Middle school Kangaroos recently at Demon Stadium.
The format of the scrimmage was both teams would run twelve offensive plays against the other teams first defense then each JV offense would each run twelve plays against the other teams JV defense.
The final portion of the scrimmage was a twelve minute simulated game.
In the first session, in which the Falcons were on offense, the Falcons scored on a four yard run by Caymen Pugh to go up 6-0. In the second session the Falcons scored on a fifty four yard run by Matthew Harding to go up 12-0 on the Kangaroos.
The Kangaroos also scored in the second session on a 46x yard run to make it a 12-6 score.
In the final simulated game session the Falcons scored again on Khaleel Wilson's six yard run to put the Falcons up 18-6, which was the final score.
The Falcons head coach, Andy Creel thought the Falcons played well. "Overall, I was pleased with the way our young guys played."
The Falcons will be attempting to defend their Washington Parish Junior high championship after they went undefeated in 2022 and defeated the Pine Raiders for the parish championship.
